Operations Supervisor 2nd Shift

JOB DESCRIPTION

The 2nd Shift Operations Supervisor directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in production, maintenance, and material handling.

Position Summary / Essential Functions

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers
  • Interprets company policies and collective bargaining agreement
  • Demonstrated commitment and enforcement of safe work practices
  • Maintains time and production reports
  • Coordinates with maintenance and other departments in Raynor
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedure to meet production schedules
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Suggests changes in work conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop, department, and crew
  • Solid communication skills at all levels of the organization
JOB RELATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in production supervision desirable
  • PC skills with experience in MSOffice and knowledge and use of JD Edwards
  • Metal forming, manufacturing, and assembly background
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Deals effectively with multiple internal/external customers of varying levels
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate, foster teamwork,  and supervise direct reports
  • Knowledge and ability concerning specific machine capacity and capability issues
  • Capable to increase manufacturing efficiencies through effective scheduling
  • Knowledge of products specifications and BOM requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication, self-presentation, and interpersonal skills
WORK EXPERIENCE

3-5 years of experience in production supervision is desirable in a metal forming, manufacturing, or assembly background.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma required / Associates or Bachelor’s Degree desirable
